Mindy

Hey everyone please keep Mindy in your prayers for the next couple of day.  She had to have surgery on her ankle today to remove a cyst.  She came through the surgery well.  She was hurting tonight when we talked on the phone but they gave her medication for pain.  So hopefully she will take some more soon and fall asleep.

Not comes the hard part she has to keep her leg propped up for the next few day.  She is only suppose to get up to go to the restroom.  She also has to ice it every hour for 20 minutes.

I will be going over there tomorrow to help her out for a couple of hours.  I am going to try and make her some good food to cheer her up.  Maybe some Brownies will help make it better.

thank you all
Stephanie

what ever Wednesday surprise in the garden

tomato plants

more tomatoes

more tomatoes

and even more tomatoes
Last year we grew tomatoes and other veggies with out the boxes.  I was very surprised and very HAPPY to see them come back from the green tomatoes that where plowed under.  As I have said I really want a lot of tomatoes to use in chili and tomato sauces.
Now me and Scott are having a debate.  He wants me to move my nice new plants but I want to just pull the weeds around them and put cages around them.  I am afraid moving them will kill them.

Make-It-Monday ( Baby Shower Basket)

I recently made this basket for my cousin's baby shower. I was going to make a diaper cake but decided to try something different. All I used for this was a large basket.I wrapped diapers around the side ( it took 1 pack of size one diapers) I bought a duck hooded towel and draped it over the handle. I used 2 orange washcloths for the feet. On the inside of the basket I put blue shredded paper to resemble water. I put some toys and bath products on the inside. I think it turned out cute!

Thrifty Thursday ( Homemade Playdough)

If your kids are like mine, they love playdough. It can get expensive though and dry out really fast. Here is a great recipe to make playdough yourself. It also smells wonderful!

1 cup flour
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup salt
3 TBS oil
1 package of Koolaid (use the color of your choice)
Directions:
  • Mix all ingredients together and cook over medium heat for a few minutes until dough forms the consistency you want. Remove from heat and cool. Keep in airtight container, refrigerate until used.

tasty tuesday

I found this recipe on pinterest but it called for cream of mushroom soup and I really dont like cream of mushroom so I did cream of chicken soup and it was really good.

here is the original pin http://pinterest.com/pin/58757970108450101/ go check it out.
Sour Cream and Bacon Crockpot Chicken

Type: dinner
Prep Time: 15 mins
Cooke Time: 8 hours
Total Time: 8 hours 15 mins
Serves: 8
Ingredients
8 bacon slices
8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 (10 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
wrap one slice of bacon around each boneless chicken breast and place in a 4-5 quart crockpot.
In medium bowl, combine condensed soups, sour cream, and flour and mix with wire whisk to blend. Pour over chicken.
Cover crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours until chicken and bacon are thoroughly cooked. You may want to remove the chicken and beat the sauce with a wire whisk so it is very well blended.
Pour sauce over chicken.
If you have a newer crockpot, check the chicken at 5 hours. The internal temp should be 160 -170 degrees F.

Make It Monday

I have a ton of scrapbook paper and had no idea how what to do with it. I tried scrapbooking but I just couldn't get into it. I was looking around the internet and found a site that had a bunch of templates on it to make boxes, cards, etc. I figured it was a great way to use up all of ths paper I have. Here is a picture of one that I made today.
It will be really cute to put gift cards in.

Thrify Thursday ( Ribbon Bookmarks)

If you are looking for a cheap and easy craft to keep your kids busy this summer, this is a great one for you. All you need is ribbon, felt and a button. Have your child cut a shape out of ribbon, hot glue it on to the ribbon ( or sew) and then add a button at the end of it for weight.

Whatever Wednesday ( garden)

I finally have stuff growing!!!! I am so excited. Pretty soon both Stephanie and I should have a garden full of vegetables and then we will be posting recipes to go with those veggies.
Here is a green pepper. I have 2 green pepper plants planted.
Tomatoes. I have 4 tomato plants planted. I am thinking of going and buying a couple cherry tomato plants also. They will have to go into pots like this one since the garden is full already.
I even have some blueberries starting to come on. My husband will be so happy when they get ripe.
