12 days of Christmas ( Day 12)

As much as I have enjoyed doing the 12 days of Christmas for both of my kids teachers, I am glad it is over lol. Day 12 was by far the simplest day of all but also the most expensive. I really hope the teachers enjoyed these last 12 days!

Here is Day 12.

12 Days of Christmas ( Day 10)

I honestly can't believe how much the girls are enjoying this. I think they may be disappointed when this week if over lol.
For Day 10 we did something simple again but useful ( especially in cold and flu season!)

12 Days of Christmas ( Day 7)

Well we made it through the first 7 days. The girls are still so excited to take gifts in everyday and I know the teachers are loving it to. I have did my best to make them nice but not really expensive gifts.

Here is Day 7

12 Days of Christmas ( Day 6)

We woke up to a 2 hour delay today since temps were 0 and the wind chill was in the negatives. I think I am already sick of winter and it has just gotten started! The only good thing about the 2 hour delay was the fact that I had a little more time to put together the gifts for Day 6. I had a horrible headache last night and didn't get it done.
Here you go!

12 Days of Christmas ( Day 5)

It has been so cold and snowy here in Indiana that I am really surprised we have gotten all 5 days in so far. Luckily the snow falls on the weekend so my girls don't miss school ( and don't miss taking in their presents!) They were excited for today because they love stuff from Bath and Body Works. I had bought numerous bottles of soap and let them pick out the one they wanted.
Here is Day 5

If anyone else is doing the 12 days of Christmas I would love to know how it is going.

12 Days of Christmas ( Day 3)

Here is the poem for day 3!

On the 3rd day of Christmas my elf brought to me,
A very special Christmas ornament,
to hang on my Christmas tree!!

( I still have to attach the poem to it)

Check back tomorrow for Day 4!

12 days of Christmas for teachers (Day 2)

I was afraid we weren't going to get Day 2 in  because of all the snow we got here in Indiana but we lucked out with a 2 hour delay. We got about 4 inches this morning and we have snow coming down again!! I hope it clears out before my craft show tomorrow.

Anyways, both girls came home excited and said their teachers thought this was neat and asked if they were going to bring them a present every day! Of course they got to say yes!
Here is the poem for day 2

Did you miss Day 1? Here it is

Great gift for moms, dads, and grandparents.

Hand Print Dish Towel
Hey everyone Stephanie here.  I wanted to share a gift I made for the parents of the children I have at my in home childcare.  I wanted to do something real special.  I thought hand prints of some kind would be great.  The only problem with that is that 2 of the children do not like to touch anything really messy.  Play dough is okay but not much messier than that.  So I decided to sew hand prints on to dish towels for them.

First I went to the dollar tree and got hand towels.

Then I traced the children's hand prints on to plain paper,  then I cut them out and then I traced them on fabric scrapes I had here.  Blue jean for dad and a tee-shirt for mom.  I used the tee-shirt because I wanted to avoid it fraying.

Next I sewed the and prints down to the dish towels.  So simple but so cute.

Thrifty Thursday Body Scrub From the pantry

Hello everyone if you are like me you get really dry skin in the winter.  I have been itching like crazy because of dry skin.  So I decided to do something about it.  I made a body scrub using 3 simple ingredients that you probably have In your pantry right now.

Recipe
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
a few drops extract in your favorite sent.

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.  If it is not moist enough add a little more olive oil.  Mine was fine with just the 1/4 cup. Then store in a plastic container in the shower. Scrub your body with it next time you shower it helps remove dead dry skin and add traps in much need moister from the oil.

This was so easy I let the children I babysit make some for their mom for her upcoming birthday.
these would make great gifts.

Tasty Tuesday Beaded Serving spoon and fork

Hello Everyone

Sorry No recipe tonight.  But I got a little craft/Christmas gift for you tonight.  Mindy told me about these a few weeks ago.  And I finally got around to making them.  These are for a friend for Christmas.  They are very easy and really cutie.

I went to the dollar tree and got this serving spoon and fork.

I already had beads and wire from making jewelry so all I spent was $2.00 but it would not cost very much for the supplies.

All you have to do is cut about a arms length of wire and start wrapping it around the serving items.  I start at the back.  Then add beads as I get to the front. And keep wrapping down as far as you want the beads to go.  I think next time I will go farther down.

when you get as far down as you want to go work you way back up to the top the same way you did.
Next tuck the wire ends in so there is no sharp edges.  So simple and I think a nice gift.
Now the big question should I make a set for Mindy or should I let her figure out how to make them herself?  HA HA

Hope you guys like this idea if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
