1 lg onion, chopped
1 can corn
1 can green beans
1 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp butter

Tasty Tuesday ( Pizza Pasta Salad)

It is starting to get warm here in Indiana. For my family that means we grill out a lot and eat more salads . This morning I made up a pizza pasta salad that I think you will enjoy. It is simple to make but has a great flavor to it. The best part is that you will have these ingredients already on hand.

Pizza Pasta Salad

1 box pasta ( you can use any shape you want, I used bow tie pasta)
1 bottle zesty Italian dressing ( I used Kraft)
2 large tomatoes or container of cherry tomatoes -cut
2 pkgs of pepperoni- cut into small pieces
1 1/2 tsp of Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp of garlic salt
1/2 tsp of parsley flakes
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese ( use as much as you like)

Cook and drain pasta. Add remaining ingredients and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Optional- add green onions, olives, salami, etc.

Tasty Tuesday ( Cheesy & Beefy Tomato Corkscrew Pasta Bake)

I found this recipe on Kraft website. I changed it a little bit to fit what we like and that is what I am sharing here. Everyone in my family loved it, even my 8 year who refuses to eat just about anything that has hamburger in it. I hope you enjoy it to!

Cheesy & Beefy Tomato Corkscrew Pasta Bake

1 pkg, pasta ( you can use any shape that you want)
1 pd hamburger
3 cloves of minced garlic
1 can diced tomatoes ( I used homeade diced tomatoes that I had frozen form last summer)
1 cup marinara sauce
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 pd velveeta, cubed

Cook pasta as directed on package and drain. Meanwhile brown hamburger with garlic and Italian seasoning. Drain. Add diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, dash of Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 8-10 minutes and then add drained pasta to hamburger mix. Spoon half of mixture in bottom of casserole dish. Top with velveeta. Add remaining pasta mixture and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Uncover, bake an additional 10 minutes

Tasty Tuesday~Taco Salad

I love taco salad! It is one of my very favorite foods. We make it a couple of different ones but the one I am going to blog about is made with Fritos. It is so simple it doesn't even need a recipe.
First you need to brown your ground beef and then add the taco seasoning ( just like you do for tacos)
Cut your tomatoes up. On a plate layer fritos, ground beef, shredded cheese ( we like to use mexican style) and top with tomatoes.
Of course you can add whatever toppings you want but this is a very yummy way to eat it!

Tasty Tuesday (Spaghetti Inside Garlic Bread)

We eat a lot of spaghetti in my house. I love it and it is cheap and filling for everyone. Of course I have to make garlic bread with the spaghetti so when I saw this recipe I had to try it. I changed it a little to fit my family and it would be easy to change to fit yours to!

First you need a frozen loaf of bread, thawed out
Roll it out using a rolling pin. I used some non stick spray on the counter to help it from sticking.
Once it is rolled out I covered it with some saran wrap to keep it moist. While it was covered I cooked my spaghetti and browned my ground beef.

Uncover your dough and cut slits up both sides. Put on your cookie sheet
Add your cooked spaghetti and ground beef down the middle. I topped mine with mozzarella and parmesean cheese.
Criss cross your dough giving a braid effect.

Brush your dough with a egg white. I then sprinkled it with some more parmesan cheese and soem garlic powder.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

Tasty Tuesday ( Breakfast Pizza and Sandwiches)

I was cleaning out my refrigerator this morning and saw that I had 2 cans of crescent rolls and a dozen eggs that were going to expire this week. Yesterday Craig and I had cleaned out the pantry and I couldn't believe how much food we threw away that had expired. Not wanting to throw anything else away I decided to go ahead and make some stuff up. First I made a breakfast pizza ( well kind of , I am just not sure what else to call it lol) and then I made up some bacon, egg and cheese crescent sandwiches.

For the pizza I took one can of crescent rolls and spread them out of a pizza pan. You can top it with anything you would like but I used bacon, egg and cheese.
I then folded over the top part of the crescent.
Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes.

Cut and serve!

For the sandwiches I just unrolled each of the crescent rolls and topped with bacon, egg and cheese, Roll back up and bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

You could freeze these or just make them up and heat them over for breakfast all week. I am not a big breakfast person but these both were really good and so easy to make!

Tasty Tuesady Fudge in the Microwave

Since Mindy made all those cookies Saturday I decided to make candy on Sunday I did not get as much done as her but I did get some made.

Today I am going to share with you a idea a saw on pinterest it was for fudge in the microwave.  I went to the sight and realized it was the same recipe I use just made in the microwave.  So much easier.  And just as good.   Here is the recipe

Fudge

18 oz chocolate chips
1 can sweet condensed milk
pinch of salt
3/4 cup nuts
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips, butter, and sweet condensed milk. Stirring the whole time. Remove from heat, and add remaining ingredients. Pour in 9 inch square pan. Chill a few hours, then cut into squares.
Variation: White Fudge: Use 1 1/2 pounds white confectionery candy coating instead of chocolate chips
Now to make it in the microwave simply put choc chips, sweet condensed milk and butter in the microwave for 3 minutes.  Remove for microwave and stir till everything is melted add rest of ingredients and follow rest of directions.

I am so glad I found this recipe I hated the stirring part of the original recipe.

Hint I line my 9 inch pan with aluminum foil to make it easier to remove the fudge

tasty Tuesday Duck

Okay so Scott has been wanting to try duck for a long time.  A couple of weeks ago they had frozen duck at Aldi's for about $12.00 about what I would spend on a roast.  So we decided to try it.
We decided to use the New wave oven to cook it in.  I think this is becoming one of my favorite kitchen appliances.  And not just because Scott cooks in it most of the time.  It just cooks stuff so well and in way less time than other methods.

Okay so like I said we decided to cook it and we always use Paula Deans House seasoning on turkey so we decided to use it on the duck.  All you do is rub it all over the piece of meat you are cooking and you are good to go.  I will add the house seasoning recipe at the end of this post.
house seasoning

Duck in new wave oven

finished Duck see how crispy the skin is and how juice the meat still is.

Now on to what we thought of the duck.  The skin was really crispy and I do love that .  But there is really no white meat and I don't really like dark meat.  I also just didn't really like the flavor of the duck.  Scott said it was okay but not something he would tell someone they just had to try.  Patrick said it was good.

House Seasoning:
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
