I hope everyone had a great weekend! Stephanie and I did the craft show on Saturday and I slept most of the day Sunday ( Surgery went well but it is only 2 weeks today and for some reason I am so tired right now). Anyways one of the things I had at the craft show were these little bat bags. I stuffed them full of candy. They would be cute to make for a class party or to give out so the special little kids in your life.
First cut out 2 squares and 2 wings. Pin it together.
Using you sewing machine sew together, leaving the top of the bat open so you can fill with goodies.
Cut out some shapes for your face and hot glue on.
You could add a little string on the top if you wanted so it could be carried around. This is a great project for kids to make also. Instead of sewing you can hot glue.

Make It Monday ( Keychains)
I have a ton of felt that I need to use up. I found the idea of making some keychains. It didn't take much time at all and I am planning on selling them at a craft show I am doing this fall.
First trace some small squares on a piece of felt and cut them out.

You will need 2 squares for each keychain.
To decorate I sewed 2 or 3 buttons on each square. I added a stem and some grass with embroidery thread.
After you are done sew both squares together leaving the top open to stuff it and add a ribbon.
These took just a few minutes to do and great for anyone learning to sew.Thursday, July 12, 2012
Thrifty Thursday ( Felt matching games)
I had some felt scrap pieces and wanted to make something with them so I decided to make a matching game.
I thought it would be fun to make a harder one so I cut 10 squares, 5 had numbers on them and 5 had that number of shapes on it. Very simple and they last a lot longer than the cardborad games!

Make-It-Monday ( Felt Crowns)
If your kids are like mine they love to play dress up. I having been trying to use up a bunch of this felt I have and decided to make some princess crowns to sell at an upcoming craft show a friend and I will be doing. My girls loved them. They are so easy to make and would make a great addition to any dress up center.
All I did was print off a template for a crown ( or you could draw your own) I gut 2 pieces out of felt. Sew the 2 pieces together , adding a piece of elastic at the back. Decorate however you want.

Make It Monday ( Boots from Dora)
I had surgery on my foot on Friday to remove a cyst. For about 2 weeks before then I couldn't do much so I managed to get some crafts done. One thing that I made is a stuffed Boots ( the monkey from Dora). I think it turned out pretty cute for one of my first sewing projects. I got the pattern from nickjr.com.

Make It Monday
We didn't post anything last week, my family was on vacation and Stephanie had hurt her leg. This week we are going to get back to normal. For our Make It Monday I am going to post a felt mat that I made awhile back. It is very easy to make, just cut the felt to the size that you want and the decorate as you would like. I can't sew so I just hot glued everything on. My girls have played with it and it has stayed together wonderful. If you would like to purchase one instead of making it check out our etsy shop!

Whatever Wednesday ( Minne Mouse Purses)
I wanted to do something different for Katie's goody bags for school this year. I was working on making some felt purses for a craft show I am doing in May and I thought to myself why not make these for the girls in her class. I think they turned out really cute and the girls loved them!

Thrifty Thursday
I have a ton of felt scraps laying around and was getting tired of storing them. I decided to make a small Tic-Tac-Toe Board with it. It was cheap to make and my girls will love playing with it.
The pockets on each side hold the game pieces. Don't mind my dirty carpet lol.
