Thrifty Thursday ( Fabric Pens)

I have been doing some sewing and I have a ton of scraps. I had no idea what to do with them so I went to Pintrest and found some neat ideas to decorate pens with fabric scraps. Everyone had their own way of doing it so I just combined them to  make it work for me.

First you need some ink pens, fabric scraps , thread and a hot glue gun.

 Cut 2 pieces of fabric one 14 inches by 2 1/2 inches, the second one 11 inches by 2 inches.
Fold the fabric in half and cut slits all the way across. They don't need to be even but make sure you don't cut all the way to the top.

Using your thread and needle do a slip stitch all the way across.

Pull together to form a circle

Lay it out and tie a good knot to combine the ends together.

Do both pieces of fabric like this. Set aside.
Get you ink pen and put some hot glue at the very top

Wrap your pen and secure it with more hot glue at the end.

Cut both of your fabrics and set the larger one on a table that you can hot glue on. Put a good amount of hot glue around the middle of the circle.

Set the smaller circle on top of it and press down to secure.

Get your pen back out and put a good amount of hot glue around the top. Making sure the fabric still has the largest side on the bottom press down to the top of the pen. Hold tight to secure.

Whatever Wednesday ( Unreal Candy Bars)

I am not sure how many of you have heard of Unreal Candy Bars. They are a new candy bar out in stores. They have no corn syrup,no partially hydrogenated oil,no artificial ingredients, no GMO's, no preservative's and a low glycemic index.
I am a member of Bzz Agent (https://www.bzzagent.com/) which means I recieve products free in the mail to try and tell people about. I then send them reports on what kind of feedback people gave me about the product. Anyone can join and it is a wonderful sight!
Onto the candy bars though. I received the Unreal Candy Bars coupons from Bzz Agent. I was excited to try them and found them here in Indiana at Walgreens and CVS. I tried 3 different kinds and want to tell you my opinion of them.
The first candy I tried was the bar that is like Snickers.

It was really good. Not quite as much Carmel but still really good.
Then I tried the one that is like peanut M&M's

These were good to. You can tell how different the colors are due to all the junk they leave out.
Last I tried the candies that are like regular M&M's

You can see the colors are dark again but the tasted great.

I still don't think that any candy is healthy for you but if you want to splurge and eat some or if the kids are bothering you at the checkout then I think the Unreal Candy Bars area a great choice!

Tasty Tuesday (Pork Chop Casserole)

Pork Chop Casserole

6 boneless pork chops
1/2 tsp seasoned salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can diced or stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1 green bell pepper
2 tbsp oil
1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
1 can tomato sauce
1 tsp minced garlic
1 1/2 cups uncooked long grain rice

Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. Brown in skillet with oil. Remove chops from skillet and set aside. Cut off top of green pepper, remove seeds and cut 6 rings from it. Set aside. In seperate bowl combine chopped yellow pepper, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, water, garlic and salt. Stir well. Spread rice in a greased 9x13 casserole pan and slowly pour tomato mixture over rice. Arrange pork chops on top and place green pepper ring over each chop. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour.


I am unsure where I found this recipe but it turned out pretty good. I personally will double the tomato mixture next time. I also used way more pork chops and used green pepper for the yellow pepper. If you make it let me know what you think!

Make it Monday beaded bobby pins

Hey everyone Stephanie here.  I am so excited I just got the notice that I got in to my first craft show ever.  Mindy has been doing craft shows with her daughters girl scout leader for over a year now and has been trying to talk me in to trying one or two.  I finally decided this was the year to go for it.  I am never going to know if my jewelry will sell unless I try.  So I have signed up for 3 shows.  This is the only one I know for sure on.  But it a start.  I am really excited.   I have been making lots of new stuff lately. 

Today I made these beaded bobby pins.  They are made with glass beads, thin copper wires, and of course bobby pins.  All I did was wrap some wire around the bend in the bobby pin.  Add a bead to the wire push it down to the bobby pin and wrap the wire around the bobby pin to secure the bead.  Keep repeating this till you have beads all the way to the end of the bobby pin.  I then took the wire and wrapped it back up the bobby pin going in between each bead.  Then tuck the end of your wire back in to your wrapping making sure there are no sharp or pointy wires sticking out.

See I said it was easy just takes a little time and if you are like me reading glasses.(ha ha)

Freezer Friday ( Johnnie Marzetti)

Johnnie Marzetti

1 tbsp oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 pd ground beef
1 can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 cup chopped celery
1 green pepper, chopped
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 pkg egg noodles. cooked
1 cup cheddar cheese

Heat oven to 375. Heat oil in skillet. Add celery, onion, and green pepper. Stir until tender. Remove veggies and set aside. Add meat, cook until done. Return veggies. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, bay leaf, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Place noodles in baking dish. Spoon meat mixture over noodles. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and cheese. Bake for 15-20 min.

thrifty thursday clothes pin redo

Clothes pin redo.  Clothes pins are such versital things.  I have seen them turned in to many different things.  Tonight we are going to turn them in to frig magnets.

take a simple clothes pin

paint them red

let it dry and then paint red stripes on it

Let it dry again.  Then add magnets to the back I had self adhisive one but you can use anything you have on hand even cut up some of those magnets you get with advertisments on them.  Just glue them on with a strong glue.

thats it you are done.

Now you have a cute way to hold papers on the fridg or anywhere else a magnet will stick to.
Of course you can paint them any colors you want.  I was trying to get mine to look a little like candy canes

whatever wednesday rock jem and mineral show

We went to the rock jem and mineral show here in town this past weekend. Look at all the pretty thing I got.

can you guess how much I spent?  Okay I will tell you around $25.00.  I think I did really well. 
Well just wanted to show off a little.  Now time to go spend time with Scott its his Birthday.
