make it monday

Hey everyone it almost that time of year here in Indiana to start planting home gardens.  Frost for the year is almost over.
This year I am going back to planting in boxes.  Last year I tried the big open garden thing and I did not like it as much as container gardening.  So am going back to the containers.

Here are the containers I am going to use the are 1 foot square.  With longer post at the sides on the inside so we can wrap chicken wire around them if the neighborhood rabbits get into them.

First I had my husband cut a couple of 1 X 4 X 8 in to 12 inch pieces.  Then I had him cut some
1 X 2 X 8 in to  18inch pieces

I then used my new favorite tool the air nail gun and nailed the boxes together.  You do not have to have an air tool to do this a hammer and nails or screws and a screw driver will work just as well.  I just really like the air nail gun it is so cool.
here is the finished box I would have had more pictures for you but they are on my husbands phone.
I am going to paint mine  bright colors so they will make me happy when ever I see them.
I will post more pictures after they are painted

We also made a much bigger box for Mindy I will have her post pictures.

have a great day

thrifty thursday

Okay so for thrifty Thursday I thought I would try this soap scum cleaner I saw on pinterest the other day.  The original pin is found here
on my pin board  But basically it is equal parts vinegar and blue dawn dish detergent.  You heat the vinegar in the microwave for a couple minutes and put it in a spray bottle with your dawn and give it a good shake.  And you are ready to go.  I took pictures of my shower before with the mixture on it and after.

shower with mixture all over it I let it set for 2 hours since we have hard water and it make soap scum so much worse
close up with mixture on it

I am still not sure how I feel about this I can see a difference in the shower walls.  But it was not all gone.  Maybe it's because of the hard water here.  I am not sure.  I will try it again and see if it does any better.  Just not sure if it wouldn't be easier to get DH to use CLR on it instead.  If you have tried it please let me know how it worked for you and if you have hard water where you live.
Thanks
Stephanie

Whatever Wednesday ( Minne Mouse Purses)

I wanted to do something different for Katie's goody bags for school this year. I was working on making some felt purses for a craft show I am doing in May and I thought to myself why not make these for the girls in her class. I think they turned out really cute and the girls loved them!

Tasty Tuesday

What tastes better than a Minnie Mouse birthday cake? For not knowing what I was doing I think it turned out pretty well.

Minnie Mouse Punch Wall

On April 18th my youngest daughter turned 4. On the 17th she got to have a party at preschool. Her party at home was going to be done in Minnie Mouse so we chose to stick with that theme and make a game to take to school for all the kids to play. At first I was going to do a pinata but decided this would be a safer project to do for 13 3 and 4 year olds.

The first thin you do is purchase 3 large pieces of poster board. Flip the poster board to the back. Find a circle that is the size you would like ( make sure it is big enough for a child's hand to fit through)
Next measure the cup you are going to use to put the prizes in. This cup must be larger than your circle.
Measure your rows out evenly and trace as many circles as you would like on your board.

After you are done tracing cut out all of the circles.

Lay down on a flat surface and cover each hole with tissue paper. We used 2-3 layers for each hole and alternated pink and white.

Fill your prize cup up with your prizes. I found it worked well to put the prizes in a ziploc bag if you are putting more than one thing in the cup.
Using a hot glue gun glue around the edges of the cup. Press down and hold for a few seconds until it dries.

Finish all of the cups.
Next you need to make sides for your board. using your second piece of poster board cut it into2 strips. Fold the strip in half and then tape to the side of the board
Repeat on the other side. Our board was to heavy so we had to brace the back to make it stand up. We taped 4 curtain rods along the back to give it support. When you are done you can decorate the front or just leave it as is.
Now come the fun part! Let the kids punch the holes out and win a prize!

Whatever Wednesday

Hello Stephanie here today
Mindy and I are both members of BzzAgent .  This is a really cool thing.  They do campaigns for company's that need people to try out there products and give feed back.  You also talk to people about the products.  Well this time I got the Pepsi Next campaign.  Since I am a huge Pepsi fan this was a great campaign for me to get .

So this is what I got in the Mail from BzzAgent.  1 can of Pepsi Next, 1 coupon for a free 2 litter of Pepsi Next,  8 coupons for $0.50 off one 2 litter bottle of Pepsi Next, a cool ink pen with facts about Pepsi Next, and a brochure telling you about Pepsi Next.

In case you haven't heard about Pepsi Next it has 60% less sugar than regular Pepsi.  Now like I said I really love My Pepsi. But at the same time I know they are full of sugar and calories.  So I was real looking forward to trying this.

I tried my can of Pepsi Next last night.  I have to say it wasn't bad but it did taste a little diety to me.  But maybe I am just really picky about it.  I drink Pepsi because of the way it taste no other reason.  So for me I would rather give up Pepsi if I was going to try and lose weight rather than drinking something I was not totally thrilled with.

Like I said this is just my opinion I will be letting my son try some when he comes home from collage in a couple of week.  I will also be passing out the coupons to friends and neighbors so they can try it for themselves.

I will make sure to have Mindy post with her opinion on Pepsi Next.

happy Easter week

hey sorry about the make it Monday you didn't get one because of the storms.  For make it monday I was going to tell you about the idea I had for decorating my trees and shrubs out front.  I used fishing line to hang plastic eggs from my trees ans shrubs.  I was really cutie till the wind and hail from the last 2 storms left only a couple of eggs out there.  So I have no pictures but it is really easy to do just run fishing line threw the top 2 holes in the Easter eggs then tie in a knot.  then hang on you trees.
