Make it monday

So for today's make Monday I am going to show you my youngest sons Halloween costume.  Nick decided he wanted a  infanuos costume.  I of course have no idea what he is talking about.  So I had to look it up and basically it is a hoodie with a skull painted on the top.   So here is what I did first I drew a skull on the top.  Then I painted it white.  The first coat made a nice pink skull.
better.
Then I painted the eyes and nose black

I will take some more Pictures with it on him tonight and post them tomorrow
have a Happy Halloween

Thrifty Thursday

Hey Stephanie here
Today's thrifty Thursday could not be easier or cheaper.  How to refill the foaming hand soap pump bottle.  First find a friend who uses the foaming soap in the bottle.  Then when they are throwing a bottle away talk them in to giving it to you.  Like I did this weekend with Mindy.  Or you can go buy one and just refill it when you run out.  When the bottle is empty you add 1  to 2 tablespoons of your favorite liquid soap to the bottle.  Fill the rest of the way with water and shake really well.  And it is ready to go.  See I told you it could not be any easier or cheaper.
have a great day
Stephanie

sorry there was no what ever wednesday

Sorry about no post yesterday.  My computer was messing up and would not let me post any thing.  Hopefully it will work today.  If it does I will try to get 2 post in today to make up for yesterdays.

What Ever Wednesday

Hey Stephanie Here.  Today I am going to talk about the one second needle.  I am sure you have seen this on TV.  Well I have been seeing them around a lot and since I am over 40 my eyesight has not been what it used to be.  So I have been having a really hard time seeing the holes in the needle to thread them.  So I decided to give them a try.  I got these out of a catalog and after ship they cost me $8.22.

This is what came in the package 4 small needles 4 large needles in a nice round case.  A mini sewing kit. That I think I am going to give to a little girl I know who is just getting in to sewing.  And a instruction sheet.  Which you really don't need because these are so simple to use.

I decided to try mine out right away sewing a little stuffed Halloween project that I hope to get done for next weeks make it Monday.
I must say the needle is so easy to tread.  I just made a loop around the needle and pulled it into the grove.  And I was ready to go.  It worked just like they say it will.  And it sews pretty good also.  I only had 2 little problems with it.

1 Some times the thread would come out of the needle.  Which was really no big deal since all you have to do is re thread it.

2 I like to sew 2 rows around thing sometimes especially if I think they will be handled a lot.  And sometimes when I was going around a second time the needle would get caught in the thread from the other row.

So If you are having trouble seeing the hole in a needle like I am I would say you are going to really like how easy they are to thread.

Tasty Tuesday ( 7-up biscuits)

Hey Stephanie Here I know this is usually Mindy's day to post but I found this recipe a few weeks back and feel in love with them.
they are 7 up biscuits and they are wonderful
Here is how to make them

2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-up
1/4 cup melted butter

Cut sour cream into biscuit mix, add 7-Up. Makes a very soft dough.
Sprinkle additional biscuit mix on board or table and pat dough out. Cut out 9 biscuits I just use a standard size glass to cut them out with.
Melt 1/4 cup butter in a 9 inch square pan.
Place cut biscuits in pan and bake at 450 degrees until golden brown

I hope you try these like I said they are great.

Stephanie Here With Make It Monday

Super easy and cute paper pumpkins

I actually made these with the children I have in my in home childcare.  They turned out so cute I decided to post them here because I am making a bunch for fall decorations in my home.

I sure cant take credit for the idea as I have seen them all over the blog land. In my search for cool kids crafts I found lots of pictures of these just no instructions.  So here are the ones I made up

You will need:
orange construction paper or scrapbook paper.
yarn
hole punch
something to cut paper in to strips I used my paper cutter to cut mine.

Okay on with the directions

First cut your orange paper I cut mine 41/2 inches long and 1 inch wide.then punch a hole in each end.

I then cut yarn about 8 inches long this give you a little extra to work with.  Then tie a knot on one end.  Be sure to make the knot big enough that it will not pull thru the punched hole.
Next you place the yarn threw one of the holes on each of the pieces of paper.  It will look like this.
Then take the yarn and run it threw the other ole on each piece.  Like this

when it is all done it will look like this
then you squeeze your paper together  like this
and tie a knot on in the yarn on top of the pumpkin
now just start pulling your paper around to form a pumpkin

When you are done it will look something like this.
I think these would be cute either as a garland hanging from the mantel or in a bowl or vase.

Hope you enjoy

Welcome to Thifty Thursday ( Couponing part 2)

Today I thought I would write about how to use your coupons to make the most of them. I take the grocery ads every Thursday and then sit down with them and my coupons. I go page by page and look to see if I have coupons for any of the items. If it is a good deal then I put it on my shopping list. I try to use my coupons when items are on sale to get even a cheaper price. How do you match your coupons up?

Make it Monday halloween decor

Today I am going to show everyone how to make easy and cheap Halloween decorations for your yard.

First you get a tomato cage.  Mine are from my garden.

Then you turn them upside down and use a zip tie to hold all the wires together.
Then you get a robe costume with a hood.  (I have lots of theses left over from previous Halloweens.)
Take the rob and place it over your tomato cage.

Then you get a stick to place through the arm holes.  If you don't have a stick a pool noodle will do. Just anything to make the arms stick out .

Place the stick through the arm holes in the  robe.

once the stick is all the way through it will look like a hooded figure in the yard

Once you have them put together you have to anchor them in the ground.  The best thing we have found for this is tent spikes.
All you do is drive two of them into the ground on opposite sides of the tomato cage with the little hook catching the top of the bottom of the cage.  Which was originally the top.

Now if you choose you can add mask or gloves to your figure.

So there you have it a cheep easy yard figure for HALLOWEEN

Hope you have a great Monday

What Ever Wednesday

Hey everyone.  I hope you are having a good Wednesday.  Today's post is about Pinterest.  I am sure some of you all ready use this sight but for the rest of you I will try to tell you a little about it.  I am in love with this sight because instead of having to add a book mark for everything I see on the internet that I want to come back to I can now pin it to a board and just go back there from the board.

So here is how it work you have to request a invite to join.  When you get one you can start pining.  You can pin 1 of  3 different ways.  1 you can search pinterest boards and repin stuff that you see there.  2 If someone has a piniterest button on there blog you can pin from there.  3 you can add the pin button to your tool bar.
I will warn you this sight is very addictive.  if you are in need of an invitation please send us an email here at twocraftingmoms with you email address and Mindy or I will be glad to send you an invitation.
Here is the link to the sight if you are interested in checking it out.

Make it Monday

Today's make it Monday is a 2 X 4 craft perfect for fall. In case you don't see it.  This is candy corn.
There is also a surprise at the end of this post so be sure to read all the way to the end

First you take a 2 X 4 and cut it into pieces. Mine are cut 10 inches for the bottom, 8 inches for the middle, and 6 inches for the top.

Then you paint one wide side of the longest board yellow the middle board orange and the smallest white.

Then you paint the rest of the sides white.

Then I took a brown ink pad and run it around the side to make the edges softer.

So there you have it  candy corn
Now for the Surprise it is also a snowman.
Simply break out your button jar (if you do not have a button jar start one Now) and hot glue gun.  Use red buttons for the mouth and black buttons for the eyes (or what ever color you want) I used a piece of wood for the nose and buttons down the front I also added a small wooden block to the top painted black for a hat.  You could also change the candy corn into a pumpkin by painting it all orange and adding a green block for the stem.

So there you have it a 2 in one fall/winter decoration for you home.

If you don't want to take the time to make one I will have some for sale in my etsy shop later this week.
Happy crafting

Stephanie
